White House Decries 'Democratic Fabrication' as Additional Jeffrey Epstein Photos Made Public
House Democrats have published a new tranche of what they labeled "disturbing" photographs from the estate of convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein, featuring among others Donald Trump, Bill Clinton, and former British royal Andrew Mountbatten-Windsor.
The opening batch of 19 images—some of which have been seen before—along with another 70 unveiled later on Friday represent a small number of the approximately 100,000 images handed over to the House investigative panel, which is examining the conduct and connections of Epstein.
The fallen money manager died by apparent suicide in a New York jail cell in 2019 after being charged with sex-trafficking offenses.
Notable Figures in the Photos
Featured among the notable figures shown in the initial batch are well-known figures such as film director Woody Allen; Microsoft founder Bill Gates; and Richard Branson, creator of the Virgin business group.
Donald Trump appears in three of the initial 19 images. In one, he is pictured with six women, whose faces are redacted.
Administration Response
The White House responded to the release in a official comment, accusing Democrats of purposefully "cherry-picking" the photographs for political purposes and to "attempt to fabricate a false storyline."
"The Democrat hoax against President Trump has been consistently disproven," a White House spokesperson remarked, insisting that "the current government has achieved more for Epstein's victims than Democrats have ever done by repeatedly calling for openness, releasing reams of documents, and urging additional probes into Epstein's Democrat friends."
Panel Member Remarks
The photographs were released lacking captions, but as stated by a Democratic representative from California and senior member of the oversight committee, they elicit additional doubts about Epstein's links with affluent people.
"It is time to halt this White House obfuscation and secure justice to the victims of Jeffrey Epstein and his influential associates," he declared in a comment.
The publication of these images coincides with the House panel continuing its investigation into the affair.
