A renowned South African radio and club DJ has been murdered in the country's largest city Johannesburg, triggering widespread grief across a country grappling with rampant crime.
Warrick Stock, popularly known as DJ Warras, was gunned down in the downtown area on a Tuesday afternoon.
Authorities reported the 40-year-old media personality was accosted by three individuals, with one shot at him before running away.

Police revealed that Stock was ambushed as he was leaving a premises close to the Carlton Centre.

"It is alleged the deceased was approached by three unidentified men after he parked his car, and they shot at him before escaping on foot," authorities confirmed.
